Tong Heng Egg Tart

After watching a documentary on this shop on TV, we decided to go try it out since the family is egg-tarts lovers.

Their egg tart is specially made in diamond shape.
It did not look as big as on tv.

Overall it is yummy, the crust is crispy. It tasted a bit like honey crust. The egg custard is smooth. However it is not to the extent that I will make a special trip to buy. Price $1.70/tart

Keng Eng Kee Seafood

This is a typical Singapore Style eating place - zichar type of coffeeshop

Kee Eng Kee

If you want to eat inside the air-conditioner room, do make your reservation early. Here's the website http://www.kek.com.sg/#!/home.

The famous food is salted egg crab. However, we did not order that as our family favorite is Chilli Crab.

Chilli Crab
I personally find that they used too much starch in the chilli crab sauce, making it too thick and starchy to consume. Next time, I will try the salted egg version.
Here's the rest of the food we ordered.
Claypot Pork Liver

Stir-fry Vegetables

Butter Cereal Prawns

Steam buns usually to go with the crab but some prefer to eat them alone

Spring Onion fry Venison

Prawn paste Fried Chicken

The liver was the first dish to be served, it was piping hot in claypot and tasted yummy. Do order if you eat liver. It is rich in iron. :)
The butter cereal prawns was up to standard. Typical you can find at most zichar places.

Steam buns usually eaten dipping into the chilli crab sauce, thou some prefer to eat them without any dipping.

The prawn paste chicken did not look delicious when served. Surprisingly, the prawn paste chicken tasted very well despite it's look. It was crispy and delicious.

One plus point of this place is that they accept CREDIT CARD payment. Thumb up! Good food reasonable price. Overall we spent about $140.

Togi @ TripeOne Somerset

Do note that this outlet is located at TripleOne Somerset and not 313 Somerset.
My friend wanted to try out Togi and initially we planned for the one at Chinatown. After some reviewing, we decided on this outlet which seems more convenient for us. Initially we also almost mistaken it located at 313. Luckily one of my friends pointed out before we went.

The entrance - very nice deco
The spread of side dishes - btw they are refillable

The army stew - which is very simple ingredients for $40 - a bit expensive. The instant noodles can only feed 2 pax

Seafood pancake, nice and filling - a bit oily

Seasoning of the meat was great. We had beef and pork

A plan view of food

Note: outdoor sheltered dining is available.

Monster Curry @ Nex Serangoon

Passed by a few times and finally decided to try it out today. Only at the entrance that I realized they do not serve normal portion. No wonder it is called Monster, not for nothing! All the servings are in the super large size portion meant for 2-3 pax!
Remember do come in a bigger group, then you can order a few different type to share it out.

You need to place your order and make payment first before they show you to your seat. They do not serve FOC water. So be prepared if you are ordering super spicy. I ordered level 1 spicy. Level zero is no chilli at all.
Not sure is it coincidental, but I started having sore throat right after the meal.
Red deco

Fiery dragon deco

My order - Monster Egg cost $24 before service charge & GST
