Wanton Mee King - but i don't like :)

located at Joo Chiat Pl
when we were there this morning (actually it is noon time, after 12)
the place is quite popular...
pple were seen coming for their meals
mainly for the wanton noodles
$2.50 for small, and $3.50 for big....pic showing small

i think it is a matter of personal taste...
i find the noodles too 'floury' taste to my liking...
still prefer the one at cambridge market
will post the photos if there is a chance....

Baking@home - Almond butter cookies

the temp of the room is impt
it is good to make the dough in the air-con environment if possible
this will make the dough easier to manage as butter will not melt easily

also keep some flour around to dust the rolling pin, cookies cutters and table for making cookies

challenges include (1) ensuring the thick of each dough is about the same size
this will make sure the final cookies are of similar thickness for presentation
(2) keeping the cut-out dough to the cookie shape....consistency for presentation too
as the dough maybe a bit soft in the hot sg climate, it is difficult to keep to the shape after cutting it out....similar to making pineapples tarts....

If u like nuts - almond cookie

if u like nuts as much as i do, u will not stop at one.....almond cookie....yummy....i cant stop myself from popping one into my mouth now and then....simply heavenly....

Peanuts anchovies chilli

researching

on how to make kueh baulu softer....
was it not enough beating of the eggs?
or was it left in the air-con room for too long....

Baking@home - Kueh Baulu

is a hot favourite at home during CNY....
it is commonly known as 鸡蛋糕.
there is no butter involved.
Ingredients are simple.
plain flour + self-raising flour
sugar + eggs
and we have lovely 'eggs cake' at home :)
