Grub @ Bishan Park
A very cozy eating place right in the middle of the lovely Bishan park.
Bishan Park is very well maintained and spans across quite a big area from Bishan Road (which is one street from CTE AMK 1 exit to Upper Thomson Road.
Grub is situated on the park which is nearer to upper thomson side.
Verdict: Food is average, not especially delicious. Had better waffle before. Come for the different feel of the environment.
No queue if you are willing to sit non-aircon alfresco dining. Come early if you want indoor seating.

Cafe O at IMM
Seating capacity was not full on a weekday lunch time although queue was considered long with about 6 persons in front.
Airconditioning in the dining area was pretty strong.
The price for a set is quite standard, $4.80. If I recalled correctly, it is $4.80 per plate. Coffee/tea is $1.80 I think. Overall, I like the chilli best. The cucumber slices were thick. The ikan kuning meat was very hard. I would prefer the nasi lemak selling at Red Ginger located in the same mall.

Beng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant - hokkien cuisine
The family has been eating at this restaurant since many years ago.
In the early 1970s, it even had catering to home.
Anyway, we are frequent visitors to the OCBC branch until a few years back they opened another outlet at Toa Payoh. It is more convenient for us at TP and lesser crowd. We did notice that for the same dish, TP portion is much lesser. However, the TP branch had since cease operation in 2013. So now we are back at OCBC carpark.
Do call in advance to make reservation on weekend as it is usually quite packed.
If you don't mind eating early, between 6-6:30pm you can get prompt service.

Lunch @ Changi Airport Swensen
The menu here is slightly different from the other outlets.
They have a few more varieties of local delights catering to tourists.

Very expensive Chicken Rice compared to what you can get from coffeeshop |
Claypot laska also another expensive dish |

友记鸭饭 - inflation
Recently a favourite stall 友记鸭饭 closed down its operation in a shopping mall in the north-east side. At the time the stall shut its operation, the price of the duck rice was selling at $3.30/plate.
Less than half a year later, it opens at the same location just 2 doors away from its old outfit. This time, the cost is $4.80/plate. I decided to go for it today and was utterly disappointed with the quality.
The rice was not cooked, the portion was much smaller. The egg was from overnight. Worse of all, throughout the meal, I kept biting on 'sands-like stuff' in my every alternate mouth full. Yuck! Will never patronise this stall again.
